Chapter 1: How You Approach Life and How You Appear To Others
Aquarius Rising:
Forward-looking and progressive, you are a person who supports change,
innovation, and human advancement, and you are often strongly committed
to a humanitarian cause or social improvement. You are extremely aware
of the interconnection and interdependence of all people, and are always
relating personal issues to some larger framework. You see the political
or social ramifications of personal actions, and you wish to contribute
something of value to the world, or at least to your community or group.
The ideals of equality, fairness, human rights, brotherhood, social
justice, etc. color your whole outlook and approach to life. You are
truly interested in the good of the whole and not only your own personal
well-being.
Sometimes you may overlook or ignore your own and others' personal
needs, desires, and feelings, especially if they do not conform to your
ideals of how one SHOULD feel or act. Though you have little patience
for conservative narrow-mindedness, you yourself are sometimes dogmatic
about your beliefs and ideologies.
You are attracted to the avant-garde, the latest advances in human
thought and development, and you are eclectic and cosmopolitan in your
tastes. You may consider yourself a "global citizen" rather than
claiming a narrow, limited identification based on nationality, race,
familial heritage, etc. You are strongly influenced by your peer group
and the flavor of the times in which you grew up, more so than by
parental or family influences. You are involved and active in groups,
community efforts, cultural and progressive movements.
On a personal level, you are friendly and express a kind of impersonal
good will towards others. You probably have many acquaintances but few
really close friends, and much of your closeness with others is based on
a sharing of common ideals and principles, rather than on emotional
ties. Others see you as a good friend and comrade, who is objective,
fair, and rather detached emotionally. You do not often show your
emotions, and may be unsure how to respond to others' emotional
expression, for you tend to be very rational.
You are also very independent and refuse to be possessed by any
individual. You are not comfortable with traditional sexual roles and
are inclined to have "liberated" views about marriage, relationships,
sharing of child rearing responsibilities, etc. You need to have a life
outside of the personal, domestic sphere and to be involved with people
on a broader scale. The nurturing of family ties, and close, deep,
personal sharing may take a back seat to your work or outside social
involvements.
Chapter 2: The Inner You: Your Real Motivation
Sun in Leo:
Proud and intensely individual, you really want to stand out, to be the
very best you can be, and to be recognized and appreciated for your
unique contributions. Doing something well and being respected for it is
extremely important to you, and you cannot tolerate being in the
background, taking orders from others, or being "just one of the team".
You must put your personal stamp on whatever you do, and direct your own
course in life. You need to have a place where you can shine, express
yourself creatively, and be the one in charge.
You have big dreams and the determination, spirit, vitality, and
enthusiasm to bring them into being. You also have a noble, romantic
heart, and a love of the dramatic, colorful, and extravagant.
For you it is true that "all the world's a stage" and you secretly (or
perhaps not so secretly) desire to be the Star or Hero in the play. You
want to be great, and to receive the love and applause of an adoring
audience, even if the "audience" is just one other special person. You
need someone to believe in you and your dreams. Though you appear
radiantly self-confident and independent, you are actually very much
dependent on the affirmation, love, and recognition of others. You
cannot bear being unnoticed or unappreciated.
You also love wholeheartedly and generously and really know how to make
the person you love feel special. You love the magic of "being in love"
and know how to keep the romance alive in your relationships. You are
also immensely loyal and will defend your loved ones and stand by them
to the end - as long as they never offend your pride or betray your
trust. However, you like to be the strong one in a relationship and you
really do not share the leading role very easily. Ideally you need to
find a person who is as strong-willed as yourself, but who will not try
to dominate or compete with you.
Your strengths are your zest and love for life, your creative power, and
your warm and generous heart. Your primary fault is your tendency to be
very egocentric, so concerned with the impression you are making and
with your own creative self-expression that you forget there is another,
larger world that does not revolve around you.
Sun in 6th house:
Your energies are directed to either perfecting your techniques, skills,
and abilities in work, or in "perfecting", refining, and improving
yourself as a person. Critical analysis and attention to minute detail
are intrinsic in either process. The urge to bring about a state of
wholeness or optimal functioning is a strong motivation of yours, and
you are quite a perfectionist!
You can easily become overly identified or involved with the function
you perform, with your work, or with your own health and "growth
process".
Sun Square Neptune:
You are extremely sensitive and imaginative, and you can get lost in
your dreams, fantasies, and visions. You are attracted to artistic and
creative pursuits, the world of color, beauty, and emotion. You are also
drawn to mysticism and have deep spiritual aspirations and yearnings.
Gentle and peace-loving, you may lack the will and competitive spirit
needed to make your way in the world. You are often impractical and may
seek to avoid or escape the hard realities of life.
Chapter 3: Mental Interests and Abilities
Mercury in Leo:
You are a person of strong opinions and you express your views
energetically and often dramatically. You are an entertaining speaker
and will embellish or exaggerate in order to get your point across. You
have an aptitude for story-telling and performing. Even if your arena is
only the classroom or dining room table, you put on a good show. You
have an abundance of creative ideas and do not enjoy a job in which you
have no creative input or voice in decision-making. You could be a good
politician, spokesperson, group leader, director, or coach.
Mercury in 6th house:
You use your mind to organize, classify, and bring order to your
environment. You are interested in the refinement of your technical
skills and abilities and are a stickler for details. Organizational and
secretarial skills, training others in your area of expertise, or work
involving teaching and communications are highly probable for you.
Mercury Opposition Jupiter:
You have an abundance of ideas, interests, and plans for the future, and
may find it difficult to focus on any particular area. You are not a
specialist for you seek to get the broad overview, to see the whole
picture rather than closely examining any of its component parts.
Philosophy, religion, or other areas of theoretical speculation interest
you.
You also possess foresight, numerous enterprising ideas, and a gambling
instinct, all of which contribute to your success in the world of
business. However, your optimism and grand vision can get you in trouble
too; you sometimes promise more than you can deliver, gloss over
important details that come back to haunt you later, and overestimate
the potential of an idea or product.
Traveling is a great love of yours, especially if there is a
mind-expanding or educational aspect involved, and you may travel
extensively in your work. Consulting or education would be good fields
for you.
Moon Sextile Mercury:
You would be an excellent teacher or counselor for you listen
sympathetically, and encourage others to express their inner thoughts
and feelings. People trust and confide in you, and you are able to read
between the lines and to sense what their feelings are as well as what
they are saying. You work well with and understand women, and the
emotional, feminine side of life. You are articulate on personal (rather
than factual or technical) subjects. Keeping a diary or journal would be
satisfying for you. You also have a talent for learning languages.
Chapter 4: Emotions: Moods, Feelings, Romance
Moon in Gemini:
You do not appear to be an intensely emotional or sentimental person,
and you are often unaware of your own or other people's deeper feelings
and emotional needs. Tears and tantrums bewilder you and make you very
uncomfortable. You would rather settle differences by talking things out
reasonably and rationally, but you tend to ignore or poke fun at any
attempt to probe your own or others' inner depths.
You avoid heavy, demanding emotional involvements and are wary of making
personal commitments.
You need plenty of mental stimulation and you feel close to people with
whom you can share thoughts and mental interests. Conversation is very
important to you. The strong, silent type of partner is not for you.
Moon in 4th house:
You have strong attachments to your past, the place where you grew up,
your heritage, and family traditions. In fact, you may be unable to step
out of the habits and roles you learned as a child. Your tie to your
mother is very strong and you also seek mothering and protection from
your spouse and other family members as well.
Moon Square Pluto:
You have intense desires and feelings and your personal relationships
are deeply emotional, passionate, and often stormy and painful as well.
There are powerful magnetic ties between yourself and those you care
about, and you could become emotionally obsessed by another person. Your
feelings can become so urgent and compelling that you do things that are
not rational. You undergo periodic emotional upheavals and purging, when
you must break all ties, release the past and begin anew.
Moon Trine Jupiter:
You are easygoing, agreeable, and tolerant, willing to overlook others'
mistakes, forget the past, and begin again on a positive note. You enjoy
making others comfortable and happy, and sometimes overdo your
generosity. You often feel that "everything will turn out all right no
matter what I do", and so become lazy and lackadaisical.
Venus in Cancer:
Sensitive and sentimental, you are deeply attached to your family, old
friends, familiar places, and the past. You are romantic and tender in
love, and the remembrance of birthdays, anniversaries, family rituals,
and other days of personal significance is very important to you. You
seek caring, emotional support, and security in love. You like to be
needed, to cherish and protect your loved ones, and you are somewhat
possessive of them.
Venus in 5th house:
You love romance and wish the honeymoon phase of your love affairs would
last forever! You need dramatic romantic gestures and displays of
affection from your partner, and you want to feel very, very special,
like a King or Queen, to your beloved. You also have an artistic flair
and enjoy creating art or beauty in some form.
Chapter 5: Drive and Ambition: How You Achieve Your Goals
Mars in Virgo:
You are a perfectionist and have high standards for your own work. You
often feel that if you want something done right you must do it
yourself, for others do not do as thorough a job as you do. Doing a task
well is very important to you, and you may labor over minute details
that others wouldn't bother with. You strive for accuracy, efficiency,
and precision, and you become very irritable when things are not done
"right".
On the other hand, you can become so much of a perfectionist and so
self-critical that you will not even attempt many activities and
projects, feeling that your efforts simply won't be good enough. You are
usually modest and realistic in assessing what you can accomplish and,
if anything, you underestimate yourself. Of course, practice makes
perfect, and if you do apply yourself diligently in some area, you
gradually gain self-confidence as you master skills and develop
expertise.
You conserve your energy and pace yourself so that you do not waste or
diffuse your efforts. An unwillingness to take risks or venture from the
beaten track can sometimes limit your opportunities. In short, you may
not aim high enough and settle for too little in life.
Mars in 7th house:
You are attracted to feisty, dynamic, strong-willed people, and you seem
to need a lot of fireworks in your personal relationships. You can be
very combative, or get involved with people who are. Ideally you will
join with people who are energetic and ambitious, but not too
domineering or aggressive.
Mars Trine Saturn:
You possess the gifts of endurance and perseverance, the willingness to
work hard and seriously to achieve your objectives. Once you decide you
want something or make a commitment, you'll do it "even if it takes
forever". Self-discipline is natural to you and you instinctively
realize that any creative achievement is "10% inspiration, 90%
perspiration". You choose practical, realistic goals and pursue them
step-by-step in a well-planned, orderly way. You like to concentrate on
one thing at a time and do a thorough job. You enjoy working in
solitude, and often feel your best work is done when you are alone.
Chapter 6: Other Influences
Jupiter in Aquarius:
Your strength lies in your ability to be innovative, open to new
progressive concepts, willing to experiment and to reject customs and
traditions when they cease to serve any positive function in the
present. Also, you have an expansive view of the world, one that
includes humanity and not only your own small, personal circle.
Jupiter in 12th house:
You are drawn to social work, the ministry, giving your time and energy
to charitable organizations, or to serving and helping the disadvantaged
in some way. Your generosity and unselfishness will bring you and others
much good.
Jupiter Conjunct Saturn:
Your aspirations and dreams are always tempered by realism and practical
considerations. You pursue your aims in a systematic, disciplined, and
thorough manner, and you are willing to take your time, advancing slowly
and steadily on your way to your goal.
Sometimes you underestimate what is possible, and hold yourself back
unnecessarily due to a lack of faith or an overly cautious attitude.
Saturn in Capricorn:
You have a great capacity for self-denial in the pursuit of a long-range
goal. You are capable of hard work and persistent labor, but you may
lack joyfulness and the ability to play. You often feel burdened by
life's demands and responsibilities, and may envy those who seem to
attract what they want in life without a great deal of personal effort.
There is a very judgmental, stern, and uncompromising side of yourself
which may inhibit you a great deal. You must avoid becoming heavy and
cynical, or becoming a rather callous, sophisticated adult whose
practicality and realism squeeze out the playful, imaginative side of
life.
Saturn in 12th house:
You may have nebulous but ever-present guilt and fears that are
difficult to pinpoint or eradicate. It's as if you don't trust Life
itself, and are always seeking ways to defend yourself from its dangers
and its unknowns. You must learn to overcome your ingrained habit of
discouragement and anxiety, and to see the world more as a friendly
place than as a treacherous one.
Uranus in Leo:
You are part of a 7 year group of people who are unusually self-willed,
proud, and egotistical. You are a group that defies authority and
insists on having its own way. Parents and school teachers found that it
was extremely difficult to discipline your age group. Governments that
are repressive to individual expression and freedom meet a great deal of
resistance from your age group, and you tend to rise up against any form
of tyranny and oppressive rule.
Uranus in 7th house:
You need a lot of freedom in your close one-to-one relationships and you
may experiment with nontraditional forms of relationships. You rebel
against conventions and restrictions when it comes to marriage or
personal relationships, and you're likely to choose a highly unusual,
eccentric, or unconventional partner.
Neptune in Scorpio:
You are part of a 14 year group of people that have very intense psychic
sensitivity and imagination. Your age group is very attracted to the
strange, weird, and unusual. The sense of the macabre and bizarre is
strong, and this is reflected in much of the music, art, and fashions of
your age group. Novels and movies with mystery and chilling suspense are
also popular with your age group. Emotional depression, drug use, and
suicide are likely to be relatively high in your age group. There is
also a deep mystical sense, and Eastern religions and meditation are
very attractive to your age group.
Neptune in 9th house:
You love to dream, fantasize, and speculate. You are willing to
entertain the most far fetched ideas and philosophies, since to you
anything is possible.
Anything exotic, alien, or faraway holds a great attraction for you. You
can have very otherworldly beliefs which are quite impractical and
irrelevant to your everyday existence.
Neptune Sextile Pluto:
The entire generation to which you belong has tremendous opportunities
for spiritual rebirth and awakening. This will not be forced upon you or
precipitated by unavoidable events, rather it comes from an inner
yearning and a natural propensity to seek the depths.
Pluto in Virgo:
You are part of a 15 year group of people that are driven by the need to
find an ethical standard and a clear sense of what is right and what is
wrong. There is a subconscious drive to straighten out all the world's
evils and create a world of perfect order. There is a feeling of
repulsion to anything ugly, dirty, or grotesque. Oddly enough, there is
also often a fascination with these very things that are so distasteful,
and often a feeling of hopelessness and despair about the world's
condition.
These inner, emotional and conflicting qualities are reflected in the
attitudes and life styles of your generation. Most people of your age
group are conservative and ethical, and a small minority goes to the
opposite extreme and relishes being strange or unusual in appearance,
and sloppy or even grotesque in manners and appearance. There seems to
be no middle ground for your generation. Usually, the rebellious type of
behavior comes out during adolescence, and tends to subside thereafter,
and your age group tends to be very conservative in later life.
Your age group is not very good at compromising and tends to have strong
ideas about what is right and what is wrong. There is a strong feeling
that you must extinguish evil in the world. Certainly, fostering good
works is very commendable, but a categorical and simple-minded response
to complex issues is not helpful. Your age group will undergo great
transformations in attitudes regarding Good and Evil and will swing to
great extremes. Your generation will also make great contributions in
the areas of medicine and nutrition, ecology, and education.
Pluto in 7th house:
Emotional intensity, compulsive attraction, and a sense of fate or
destiny characterize your one-to-one relationships. It's as if you
simply cannot have light, superficial relationships; they are inevitably
profound, intense experiences which reveal your depths to you. You may
be drawn to powerful, charismatic, willful people that challenge,
thwart, and ultimately evoke your own power and strengths. Your marriage
is likely to be the arena for your greatest growth.
