Chapter 1: How You Approach Life and How You Appear To Others
Libra Rising:
You are a natural diplomat, reasonable, tolerant, fair, always willing
to listen to varying viewpoints, and ready to see the other side of an
issue. Even if you strongly disagree with someone, you will try to find
points of similarity and agreement rather than emphasizing the
differences. You often avoid taking an extreme or one-sided stance on
anything. You have a strong desire for harmonious and pleasant
relationships, and express a spirit of cooperation, compromise,
friendship, and fairness. You very much want to be liked and because of
your need for approval and acceptance, you are easily influenced by
others' opinions, especially when young. You so much want to please that
often you will suppress your own intense or unpleasant feelings in order
not to offend others. Sometimes your politeness is interpreted as
phoniness or wishy-washiness.
Your need to create harmony extends to your physical environment and
personal appearance as well. You appreciate beauty and have a natural
sense of balance, symmetry, and proportion. You do everything in good
taste, with a sense of style and art. From your home furnishings to your
choice of clothing, everything must be aesthetically appealing, not
simply functional or utilitarian.
You also feel that relationships are an art, one that especially
interests you and one that you are usually quite skilled at, for you
possess tact and acute awareness of other people. Marriage is very
significant to you and finding the right person to share your life with
is extremely important. Being part of a close couple seems natural to
you - you are not an independent loner. Having a partner increases your
self-confidence. You do have a tendency, however, to become overly
dependent on your partner and perhaps not to develop a clearly defined
identity outside of the relationship. Finding the balance between being
yourself and blending and uniting with another is a challenge for you.
Others see you as an agreeable, smooth, harmonious, and "nice" person.
Though there may be much more to you, this is the sort of face you show
to the world. You possess personal charm and an understated,
noncombative manner. Your motto could be "you catch more flies with
honey than with vinegar" for you usually take a friendly, cooperative
approach rather than a strong, forceful, I'm-going-to-conquer-the-world
attitude.
Neptune Conjunct Asc.:
You seem gentle and receptive and often you do not make a clear, strong
impression on others. You have an elusive and subtle quality, and people
may be nebulous about who you are. You are easily influenced by others
and somewhat naive. You have a spiritual, mystical approach to life and
are very idealistic and sometimes impractical.
Chapter 2: The Inner You: Your Real Motivation
Sun in Aquarius:
You are a freedom-loving, strong-willed, and independent-minded
individual, and you insist upon living your own life as you see fit,
even if that means ignoring convention and tradition. In personal
relationships you cannot be owned or possessed, and while you are
willing to share yourself with another, you do not always adjust easily
to the emotional give and take of a close relationship. Though
intellectually open, you can be enormously stubborn, opinionated, and
inflexible on a one-to-one level. You have strong convictions and
feelings about fairness and equality, and you try to live by your
ideals, but your ideals about how people SHOULD treat one another don't
always take into account human weaknesses, differences, and needs. You
probably dislike sentimentality and traditional gender roles and
"games".
You are fair, intelligent, objective, rational and often let your head
rule rather than your heart. You seem rather self-sufficient and
detached emotionally because you are capable of putting aside your
personal feelings and viewing things dispassionately. But once you make
up your mind on an issue, you are difficult to sway and can be rather
dogmatic.
You think in broad terms and are concerned with the world beyond your
own personal sphere - your town, nation, or even planet. You are likely
to become involved in community affairs, social organizations, and
groups of all kinds, or to have a keen interest in such. You enjoy being
part of a group endeavor and often find yourself organizing, managing,
or supervising group activities.
Forward-looking and progressive, you harbor great hopes for the future.
You stay current and up to date, and respond to contemporary cultural
trends, both in terms of personal style and in terms of ideas. When
young you were very influenced by your peers and by group pressures and
by all the "latest crazes". You have an experimental mind and are
attracted by the novel.
Your strong points include your concern for human welfare and social
betterment, your sense of fairness and democratic spirit, and your
vision. Your faults are your stubbornness and inflexibility, and a
tendency to be very obtuse and insensitive when it comes to personal
feelings and human needs.
Sun in 4th house:
You are a private person and inclined to withdraw in very public and
impersonal social settings. You prefer to work at home or in a very
personal small business.
You invest a lot of your creative energy into your home, your family,
and your inner life.
Sun Opposition Saturn:
Feelings of personal inadequacy, inhibitions, and self-doubt often
plague you. You have a cautious, careful, realistic attitude toward life
and are highly responsible and disciplined with regard to your
obligations and duties. You tend to work and struggle more than you need
to, and to take yourself too seriously.
Sun Opposition Pluto:
You are intensely willful, zealous, and fanatical, though often you hide
the intensity of your feelings and your personal motives and desires.
You have an infatuation with power and an almost compulsive desire for
personal recognition, the desire to be Somebody. You tend to worship
Heroes who have powerful personal magnetism and charisma, and often seek
to emulate them. You also have both a fear of, and an intense
fascination with, death and the hidden, secret, dark side of life.
Sun Trine Neptune:
You are imaginative and sensitive to anything colorful, beautiful, or
magical. You are attracted to artistic and creative pursuits, music, and
mysticism. Your spiritual values color your whole perspective and
approach to life. You are idealistic and perhaps impractical.
Chapter 3: Mental Interests and Abilities
Mercury in Pisces:
You are more of a poet than a rational scientist, for your mind does not
function in a strictly logical, linear fashion. The language of music,
art, or poetry is natural to you, and you are also able to think in
highly abstract and symbolic terms. Translating your thoughts and
impressions into concrete, everyday language may be difficult for you at
times and consequently you may appear less intelligent or at least less
quick-witted and verbal than others. This was especially true of you as
a child, and you probably daydreamed a good deal also. You are intuitive
and are able to sense what others' thoughts and feelings are, even
before they say anything to you. You often form an opinion about a
person or situation without much factual knowledge of them, and your
impressions are usually correct. You can be somewhat absent-minded and
you become so immersed in your own thoughts that you overlook things in
your immediate, tangible environment. You are extremely open-minded and
believe that anything is possible. Intangible or spiritual forces seem
just as real to you as anything in the concrete world. Your imagination
and your sympathetic understanding of other people are two of your
greatest gifts.
Mercury in 5th house:
You enjoy puzzles and other games that challenge you intellectually. You
like to show off your verbal or intellectual skills and to use your mind
creatively. Writing, dramatic speaking or some other display of your
creative intelligence appeals to you.
Mercury Opposition Mars:
Argumentative and rather aggressive and critical in discussions, you
tend to turn any conversation into a debate, and sometimes a verbal war.
You could be a spokesman for a righteous cause, a lawyer vigorously
defending a client, a sharp analyst or critic. You are a convincing
speaker, but are not especially receptive to the ideas and opinions of
others. You have a forceful intellect and an aptitude for mental work.
Chapter 4: Emotions: Moods, Feelings, Romance
Moon in Sagittarius:
Open and generous, you enjoy a wide circle of friends and acquaintances
and you thrive on sociability and fellowship. You are adventurous,
playful, freedom-loving, and always ready for a good time. You rarely
allow obstacles or difficulties to keep you down, for no matter how
bleak the past or present, you always expect a better, brighter future.
In fact, you are uncomfortable with your own or other people's problems
and emotional pain. You often try to "cheer up" or offer philosophical
advice to those who are hurting, but unwittingly you avoid or ignore the
emotions involved.
Friendship means a great deal to you, perhaps even more than love or
romance. For you to be happy, your mate must be your best friend and
encourage your aspirations and ideals. You also need a great deal of
emotional freedom and mobility.
Moon in 3rd house:
You often make decisions solely for emotional or personal reasons,
because something "feels right" or because you've always done it a
certain way and you are uncomfortable changing it. Even when you think
you're being rational, your prejudices, intuitions, and feelings
influence your thoughts a great deal. You are comfortable talking about
feelings and personal subjects, and sharing confidences, which enables
others to express their own inner feelings with you as well. You have
good psychological insight into others.
Moon Conjunct Jupiter:
You are tolerant and forgiving, always ready to overlook mistakes and
give others a second chance. You expect the best from people and draw it
out of them, and you enjoy making others comfortable and happy. Because
of your emotional generosity, your life is rich with friends, and often
financial blessings as well.
Moon Opposition Uranus:
You crave excitement, change, and discovery, and cannot tolerate a
routine or lifestyle that offers little in the way of surprise or
challenge. Excitable, spontaneous, and enthusiastic about anything new,
you may be perceived by others as being too impulsive, especially in
personal relationships. It is not easy for you to make or keep
commitments, since you don't know how you will be feeling from one day
to the next. Emotional freedom is very important to you. Your domestic
life can be very unstable - but you like it that way.
Moon Square Venus:
You have conflicting emotional desires and needs which complicate your
personal life. You may feel that you cannot depend on your love partner
to take care of you or perhaps you cannot decide what you really want in
a love relationship: a parent or a lover. If your needs for emotional
sustenance and love are not satisfied, overeating (especially sweets)
can be a problem for you.
Moon Trine Saturn:
You have an inner poise and balance that enables you to act in a cool,
efficient manner during emotional traumas and stress. You keep
perspective and objectivity about highly charged emotional issues -
sometimes to the chagrin of others who might wish that you would react
more intensely. You are quietly supportive and faithful to your friends
and loved ones.
Venus in Pisces:
Tremendously softhearted and sympathetic, you give very selflessly and
devotedly to those you love and often allow others to become overly
dependent upon you. More compassionate than passionate, you may become
romantically involved with someone because they need love and you want
to help them, rather than out of mutual pleasure or attraction.
You are drawn to sensitive, imaginative, gentle souls - poets,
musicians, dreamers - or to someone you feel you can have a deep
spiritual relationship with. You idealize love and have a very
beautiful, romantic vision of what love can be.
Venus in 6th house:
When you care about someone, you like to serve them, doing small
thoughtful favors, helping them, or doing something tangible to show
your affection.
You also have considerable artistic or creative skill and may sew or do
other handiwork or crafts. In fact, you are suited for a profession
involving beauty or pleasure or making people happy in some way.
Venus Square Jupiter:
You share freely whatever you have, and your friends know they can
always count on your generosity and support, both emotional and
material. Your good-hearted acceptance and tolerance of others' foibles
goes a long way in maintaining harmony in your relationships. You also
have a lazy streak and sometimes avoid confronting difficult issues in
relationships simply because it seems like too much trouble and too
petty. You like to socialize and will use any excuse to celebrate with
friends. You cannot tolerate too much restriction by your love partner,
and encourage your partner's freedom as well.
Venus Square Uranus:
Your love feelings are easily aroused and your romantic relationships
begin with a sudden electric attraction, but they often end abruptly,
and you may be in and out of love frequently - especially in your
younger years. You crave emotional excitement and need to feel
spontaneous and free, so you may avoid making firm personal commitments.
Unusual or nontraditional forms of love and relationships appeal to you,
and you are attracted to unique, creative, or unstable people.
Chapter 5: Drive and Ambition: How You Achieve Your Goals
Mars in Virgo:
You are a perfectionist and have high standards for your own work. You
often feel that if you want something done right you must do it
yourself, for others do not do as thorough a job as you do. Doing a task
well is very important to you, and you may labor over minute details
that others wouldn't bother with. You strive for accuracy, efficiency,
and precision, and you become very irritable when things are not done
"right".
On the other hand, you can become so much of a perfectionist and so
self-critical that you will not even attempt many activities and
projects, feeling that your efforts simply won't be good enough. You are
usually modest and realistic in assessing what you can accomplish and,
if anything, you underestimate yourself. Of course, practice makes
perfect, and if you do apply yourself diligently in some area, you
gradually gain self-confidence as you master skills and develop
expertise.
You conserve your energy and pace yourself so that you do not waste or
diffuse your efforts. An unwillingness to take risks or venture from the
beaten track can sometimes limit your opportunities. In short, you may
not aim high enough and settle for too little in life.
Mars in 11th house:
You are a team player and work well in collaboration with others who
share your goals, ideals, and intentions. You can coordinate group
efforts and inspire people to work toward a shared goal.
Team sports are also a lot of fun for you, and you could be a leader,
coach, or director of any group endeavor.
Chapter 6: Other Influences
Jupiter in Sagittarius:
Your strength lies in your ability to see the whole, rather than only
the parts which compose it. You have a deep need to explore the world
and to develop your own philosophy of life and sense of personal
meaning. You vacillate between being open-minded and tolerant of
differing views, and being dogmatic or overly zealous about your own
viewpoint.
Jupiter in 3rd house:
You have a great love of learning and an eager, curious, active mind
which impels you to travel and see as much of the world as possible. You
read widely, and may excel academically. You love being in a
teacher-student relationship and may stay in school for many years,
prolonging your studies for as long as possible! You also communicate
well and would be an effective, inspiring teacher.
Public relations or any field involving communications and sharing
information also suits you very well.
Jupiter Opposition Uranus:
Your gaiety, enthusiasm, optimism, and a positive, energetic, upbeat
attitude generate a lot of opportunities for you. You enjoy being
spontaneous and taking risks. You must have a great deal of personal
freedom and independence, and prefer the "wide-open spaces" to a very
rigid, structured lifestyle. Your sense of humor and playfulness enable
you to make it through the rough spots in life, as well as to bounce
back when those gambles you make do not quite pan out. You enjoy
surprises and exploring new territory, both intellectually as well as
physically.
Jupiter Trine Saturn:
You have a good balance between idealism, optimism, and vision for the
future on one hand and a realistic sense of what can actually be
achieved on the other hand. Your judgment and business sense are usually
quite good. You possess patience and the ability to accept limitation
and frustration on the way to your goals.
Older, more experienced individuals or mentors are likely to play a
significant and beneficial role in your life.
Saturn in Leo:
You are very self-conscious and have a great need for ego-affirmation
and praise. Expressing yourself freely, openly, and unself-consciously
is not easy for you. You tend to work hard at playing and "having fun",
rather than being light-hearted and spontaneous. Developing self-love
and self-acceptance regardless of your "performance" is an important
task for you.
Saturn in 11th house:
You are generally not a "joiner" and do not feel comfortable in clubs,
organizations or other groups of people that are centered around some
common ideal or interest. If you do participate in a group, you may find
the rules and procedures restrictive - or you may simply feel that you
do not fit in with the others.
Being alone or with older, more experienced people suits you better than
being with groups of your own peers.
Saturn Conjunct Pluto:
You are suspicious of groups, crowds, and social organizations. You are
quick to notice social games and insincerities, and you avoid the
limelight and glamour. You are direct and to the point in speech and
manner, stubborn and inflexible, and often unwilling to communicate your
innermost feelings and thoughts.
Saturn Sextile Uranus:
In meeting your challenges and difficulties in life, you do have allies:
your ability to tolerate tension and ambivalence, your ability to
compromise, and a capacity to endure discomfort. Remaining steady in the
midst of crisis or sudden change is an aspect of this, as well as
knowing when to wait and when to make necessary changes. Your timing is
usually good.
Uranus in Gemini:
You are part of a 7 year group of people who are progressive and
creative thinkers. Academic achievement is high and academic standards
are higher with your age group than with others. You are a curious and
inquisitive bunch, and many discoveries and clever insights are brought
forth from your age group. The love of learning never dies with your age
group, and your curiosity and inquisitiveness does not wane in later
life, as is common with others.
Uranus in 9th house:
You are unconventional, even iconoclastic, in your attitude toward
religion, philosophy, and politics. You tend to see traditional religion
as restrictive, meaningless ritual with little to offer you, and you're
eager to experiment with other, alternative pathways. You have lots of
creative, innovative ideas and you often feel that others are unwilling
to take risks and venture out of their deeply ingrained perspectives and
views.
Neptune in Libra:
You are part of a 14 year group of people who have a very idealistic
sense of brotherhood and universal cooperation, which, among other
things, fostered the peace and freedom movement. Your age group is also
interested in the spiritual philosophy and ideals of other cultures, and
is not at all dogmatic in its approach to religion. You incorporate the
approaches of other religions. Your age group tends to have an eclectic
approach to religion, utilizing elements from many religious
perspectives (e.g. Eastern and Western), and finds it difficult to
follow traditionally defined religious practices.
A gullibility and an unwillingness to be decisive and judgmental
inclines your age group to be easily deceived, and consequently many of
the well-intended ideals and goals are frustrated by a lack of clear
purpose and direction.
Neptune in 1st house:
You are yielding, gentle, and impressionable. You tend to "melt" into
your surroundings, and do not make a very powerful, vivid impression on
others. Especially while young, you may not have a very clear sense of
identity.
Sensitive and compassionate, you do not enjoy fighting and no matter
what you profess, you are a pacifist at heart.
Neptune Sextile Pluto:
The entire generation to which you belong has tremendous opportunities
for spiritual rebirth and awakening. This will not be forced upon you or
precipitated by unavoidable events, rather it comes from an inner
yearning and a natural propensity to seek the depths.
Pluto in Leo:
You are part of a 20 year period that is often referred to as the "ME"
generation, a generation that has a very proud and self-reliant
attitude. You are a generation that is very concerned with
self-development and personal integrity. Women's rights and minority
rights are issues that your generation has fostered and they reflect
your concern with individual respect, integrity, and honor. Your age
group has a deeply felt sense that each person has an equal right and
opportunity to fully develop his or her inner potential.
However, your group also finds it difficult to be part of a team and a
strong egotism makes group efforts difficult; you tend to see the
individual as more important than the group. You also defy authority and
often feel that no one has the right to tell you what to do. The strong
movement to refuse drafting into the military is one example of your age
group's strong sense of individual rights and freedom.
Your age group has popularized the idea of self-development, and has
contributed a great deal to the development of individual potential as
well as human rights. However, there is also a tendency to be rather
self-centered; others may wonder how you can spend so much time
developing yourselves and have so little time to contribute to your
families!
The interest in personal development also sometimes manifests as a
fascination with particular individuals and a great deal of hero
worship. Every generation, of course, has lots of idols, but your
generation is particularly prone to needing a specific individual to
represent and embody an idea or feeling, and to serve as a focal point
of interest. Perhaps the most extreme example of this is the concept of
the guru that was popularized by your age group.
Pluto in 10th house:
You have a powerful sense of destiny and may be unusually, even
ruthlessly, ambitious. There is a very driven, compulsive quality to the
way you pursue your career or other important life goals, which is
likely to win you both staunch admirers and vigorous opponents.
There is a very "radical" side to you, and you may want to remake or
change the world in some significant way. Depending on other
astrological factors in your chart and your own decisions, you can be
either very destructive or a powerful force for healing and positive
change in the world.
