Chapter 1: How You Approach Life and How You Appear To Others
Sagittarius Rising:
High-spirited, enthusiastic, and exuberant, you love adventure, change,
exploring new territory, and are not happy confined to the same safe,
familiar, secure little world all the time. You have a strong
restlessness and yearning for something greater than anything you've yet
experienced, and you often live in your dreams and visions for the
future. You tend to believe that the grass is greener somewhere else and
you like to keep moving, either literally or figuratively. Idealistic
and optimistic, you always expect something better ahead. You love to
have a goal, something to aim for, but once you achieve it you are on to
something else. You are ever on the lookout for new opportunities and
you are a gambler, willing to take risks and to break new ground. The
possibility of discovering something new is what makes life interesting
for you. You have great faith in life and bounce back quickly from
disappointment and failure.
Freedom-loving and independent, you cannot tolerate being caged for very
long, and friends and loved ones must respect your need for freedom of
movement. Binding commitments and responsibilities often weigh heavily
upon you and you may resist "growing up" and taking on the limitations
of adult life.
You are friendly and outgoing and have a great sense of fun and
playfulness. You are also philosophically minded and often quite
outspoken about your convictions and beliefs. Sometimes you get carried
away with your enthusiasm of the moment and you tend to exaggerate. You
are often a big talker, full of big promises, and you are usually pretty
convincing. You do everything in a big way, a generous way. You like to
have the best, and you heartily dislike stinginess, littleness, or
pettiness. Your vision is always large. You are able to perceive the big
picture, general patterns and principles, and are well suited to
politics, business, higher education or religion.
Other people see you as a good sport and a good friend, but one who is
not always consistent and dependable. You may also be seen as a wise
person since you do not get bogged down in pettiness and trivialities,
and are able to communicate a larger way of looking at situations, one
that opens up new potentials. You are a person who believes in miracles,
grace, or just plain good luck, someone who never gives up on life, and
you inspire and encourage others to keep looking forward.
Chapter 2: The Inner You: Your Real Motivation
Sun in Aries:
You are a person who thrives on challenge, and you often feel that you
must battle your way through life, depending upon no one and nothing but
your own strength, intelligence, and courage. You believe in being
totally honest, true to oneself and one's own vision and convictions,
even if that means standing alone. Honesty, integrity, personal honor,
and authenticity are your gods, and you have no sympathy for weakness of
character in others.
You crave the freedom to do things in your own way, and you work very
well independently. Cooperating with others or carrying out another's
will is not your style. You like to be the chief - or to go it alone.
You love action and if others are settling down into a nice, comfortable
little rut, then you are always ready to stir things up, do something
new, make changes, bring in some fresh blood. Routine and sameness are
like death to you. You are not afraid of trying something that's never
been done before, and even though you may be seen as a fool sometimes,
you also discover, invent, and initiate things that others will later
emulate. Taking risks and following your own star are the breath of life
for you, and you wilt (or get very frustrated and angry) if you cannot
do this.
You are spontaneous, impulsive, direct, enthusiastic, and assertive. You
believe in the power of positive thinking and positive action, and you
think of yourself as a strong person - even invincible. You hate being
ill or in any way in a position of dependency. Accepting your own human
limitations and emotional needs is often difficult for you.
You are basically aggressive in your attitudes and have less facility in
the receptive arts of relating to others, picking up subtle messages and
nuances, listening, nurturing, and harmonizing. Often you are so fired
up about your own projects or goals that you inadvertently run over or
ignore other people's feelings and interests. Being receptive and
appreciative of others' contributions, ideas, and feelings would go a
long way in improving your relationships. Your impatience to get on with
things causes you to be rather insensitive, and to therefore alienate
others unnecessarily. You also frequently try to accomplish your ends by
using anger or some version of a temper tantrum. You would gain much by
learning to slow down, relax, and just let things be sometimes, but your
energetic, restless nature rarely allows you to do this.
Sun in 4th house:
You are a private person and inclined to withdraw in very public and
impersonal social settings. You prefer to work at home or in a very
personal small business.
You invest a lot of your creative energy into your home, your family,
and your inner life.
Sun Conjunct Mercury:
You tend to see things from your perspective only and to be rather
subjective. You also enjoy talking and expressing your views but you
don't always listen as well. You have a clear mind, a love of learning
and new experiences, and need constant mental stimulation and activity.
Sun Opposition Uranus:
Impulsive, restless, and spontaneous, your life is apt to be somewhat
unstable and full of sudden changes. You are extremely independent and
crave excitement, adventure, freedom, and discovery. You have a
rebellious streak and often feel you are unusual and different from the
mainstream of society. The unorthodox and novel appeal to you.
Sun Square Moon:
You often feel that you are at cross purposes with yourself, for your
conscious intentions and desires conflict with your subconscious
emotional needs and drives. You are pulled in two different directions.
You have difficulty satisfying both your need to be an individual and
your need for caring relationships and a sense of belonging. Also, you
send out mixed messages so people don't always know how to respond to
you or know what you really want, thus creating confusion or conflict in
close relationships.
Chapter 3: Mental Interests and Abilities
Mercury in Aries:
Outspoken and direct, you are always eager to express your ideas and
opinions and don't mind opposing the consensus and stirring up a little
controversy. You have fresh, original ideas and much enthusiasm for
anything new and untried, but once the novelty has worn off, you are
interested in another new idea or project. You never seem to have enough
time to do all you want to. You are very honest, speak decisively and
convincingly about things you believe in, and are unable to pretend to
agree with someone if you honestly don't. You may be somewhat deficient
in tact.
Mercury in 4th house:
You have an introspective turn of mind and may enjoy keeping a journal
or a record of your dreams and personal experiences, or learning about
psychology, history, and the inner workings and emotional foundations of
your own life. You are studious and something of a bookworm.
Chapter 4: Emotions: Moods, Feelings, Romance
Moon in Capricorn:
Serious and responsible, you try to carry the world on your shoulders
and rarely let others know that you need help and support. You deny or
ignore your own emotional needs and feel that others will not accept you
if you appear "weak". You are especially uncomfortable with emotional
dependency, and will tell yourself and others (even children) not to be
a "baby". You need to accept that no one is self-sufficient all the
time, and to be gentler with your "childish" emotional needs and wants.
To others, you may appear to be rather hard-nosed and tough, with a
businesslike attitude toward their personal concerns and feelings.
Actually, no one is a truer friend. Your feelings and loyalties run
deep, but you often do not let people know how much you care. You also
need to learn to relax, enjoy yourself, and play sometimes.
Moon in 1st house:
You have a soft exterior and tend to relate very personally and
sympathetically to other people. However, you sometimes let your
emotions overpower your reasoning and logic, and consequently you are
sometimes biased in your opinions. You are impressionable and rather
gentle, or at least that is the way you appear. Your feelings are on the
surface and you can not hide your emotions.
Moon Square Uranus:
You crave excitement, change, and discovery, and cannot tolerate a
routine or lifestyle that offers little in the way of surprise or
challenge. Excitable, spontaneous, and enthusiastic about anything new,
you may be perceived by others as being too impulsive, especially in
personal relationships. It is not easy for you to make or keep
commitments, since you don't know how you will be feeling from one day
to the next. Emotional freedom is very important to you. Your domestic
life can be very unstable - but you like it that way.
Moon Trine Saturn:
You have an inner poise and balance that enables you to act in a cool,
efficient manner during emotional traumas and stress. You keep
perspective and objectivity about highly charged emotional issues -
sometimes to the chagrin of others who might wish that you would react
more intensely. You are quietly supportive and faithful to your friends
and loved ones.
Moon Sextile Jupiter:
You are easygoing, agreeable, and tolerant, willing to overlook others'
mistakes, forget the past, and begin again on a positive note. You enjoy
making others comfortable and happy, and sometimes overdo your
generosity. You often feel that "everything will turn out all right no
matter what I do", and so become lazy and lackadaisical.
Venus in Aries:
Your love feelings and desires are easily aroused but it may be
difficult to sustain your romantic interest in a relationship after the
initial, exciting "chase and conquest". You enjoy a partner who is
dynamic and alive, someone with a strong independent streak, and you do
not like things to become too peaceful or predictable in the love arena.
You want to see sparks fly once in awhile, even if that means
instigating a fight.
Venus in 4th house:
A warm, loving, and comfortable home is very important to you and you
invest a lot of your energy into beautifying, decorating, and creating a
lovely home. Also, you share your affection with the people in your
family very generously and having close family ties is a major priority
for you. Being at home makes you happy.
Chapter 5: Drive and Ambition: How You Achieve Your Goals
Mars in Taurus:
Once you set your mind on a goal, your dedication, determination, and
commitment to it are extraordinary. You pursue your ambitions
tenaciously and will stubbornly refuse to give up, let go, or be
influenced in any way. Like Aesop's tortoise, you labor patiently and
steadfastly until you achieve what you want - or until it is clear
beyond a shadow of a doubt that all is lost. You are a reliable,
consistent, and productive worker, and often shoulder more of the
workload than your co- workers, usually without complaint. The
nitty-gritty work often falls to you. You prefer a regular routine, with
definite hours and clearly defined responsibilities and tasks. In fact,
establishing a pattern or routine is very important to your success
because once you get started in a certain direction, is easy for you to
follow it through to its completion. Getting started is more difficult.
You have a lazy, comfort-loving side and there is often a good deal of
inertia for you to overcome before you get going. Once you get a
momentum going, your energy level is strong and steady.
You are interested in concrete results and solid, practical achievement.
You need to have some tangible product or contribution to show for your
efforts, and cannot be content with only intangible rewards (such as
having a good time, learning, or spiritual enrichment). Material
well-being and security is also a large factor in determining what you
do. Your stamina and persistence is your great strength but it can also
work against you; you can get caught in a rut and refuse to seize new
opportunities. You also tend to play it safe, and to limit yourself in
that way.
Mars in 5th house:
You play vigorously and enjoy competitive games and physical
rough-and-tumble activities. Athletics and/or physical activities have
great appeal for you. You take the initiative in sports and also in
romance: you are ardent in pursuing ANYTHING you desire.
Chapter 6: Other Influences
Jupiter in Scorpio:
Your strength lies in your unwillingness to settle for superficiality or
shallowness in any area of your life. You are unafraid of going to
extremes and experiencing the depths. The mysterious and the unknown are
very attractive to you. Your intuitive understanding of others' inner
drives and motivations is highly developed also.
Jupiter in 10th house:
Your career or contribution to the world at large is likely to touch
many people's lives in a very positive, helpful way. You aim high and
have an innate confidence and trust both in your own abilities and in
life in general, which enables you to go far. You want to do something
BIG with your life, and you attract the support you need to do so, for
your aims are not solely for your own personal benefit. You want to give
something back to the world, or to improve others' lives as well as your
own.
Jupiter Opposition Saturn:
You tend to seesaw between hope, optimism, and faith versus doubt and
oppression by limitations and practical realities. You need to overcome
impatience and restlessness in order to achieve your dreams and desires
for a better life.
Saturn in Taurus:
You either overvalue or undervalue your possessions and assets. You can
also go to extremes in dealing with bodily needs and desires, being
either hedonistic or ascetic. You may deny yourself sensual pleasure and
enjoyment of the fruits of your labors. You may also be stingy and
unable to give freely. Many times you feel that you do not have "enough"
to make you feel secure, regardless of how much (money, insurance, etc.)
you have!
Saturn in 5th house:
It may be difficult for you to play spontaneously or just let your hair
down, for you tend to inhibit that side of yourself by being too
self-conscious and concerned with the impression you are making.
You may work very hard at some sport or creative medium in order to
excel, for you want very, very much to be noticed, acknowledged, and
recognized as special in some way. Though you may indeed be outstanding,
you also need to learn to relax and enjoy yourself more.
Uranus in Libra:
You are part of a 7 year group of people who strive for greater equality
in relationships. You treat parents, children, and spouses much more
like friends and equals than other generations do, and many of you will
experiment with alternative marriage styles that allow for greater
freedom and equality in relationships.
Uranus in 9th house:
You are unconventional, even iconoclastic, in your attitude toward
religion, philosophy, and politics. You tend to see traditional religion
as restrictive, meaningless ritual with little to offer you, and you're
eager to experiment with other, alternative pathways. You have lots of
creative, innovative ideas and you often feel that others are unwilling
to take risks and venture out of their deeply ingrained perspectives and
views.
Neptune in Sagittarius:
You are part of a 14 year group of people that are extremely idealistic
and farsighted in their dreams. Your age group is very liberal and
expansive in outlook, and consequently churches become much more
flexible and more eclectic in their approach during your life time.
Religions that do not adapt to the broad-minded attitude of your age
group simply are unable to attract very much interest and involvement
from you.
A great deal of metaphysical musing and speculation is evident in your
age group, and there is a very strong interest in all manner of psychic
phenomena, UFO's, prophecy, etc. This interest will open many new doors
and insights, but will also often lead to a great deal of fantasizing
and speculation that is taken more seriously than it should be.
Neptune in 12th house:
Compassionate and extremely sensitive to the emotional tones in the
atmosphere surrounding you, you are naturally "psychic" or able to sense
and understand much about a person without talking to them or knowing
them consciously at all. You are deeply interested in the hidden realms
of life and the afterlife. Your powerful sensitivity may also remain
latent or repressed through much of your life and then be fully awakened
in adulthood.
Pluto in Virgo:
You are part of a 15 year group of people that are driven by the need to
find an ethical standard and a clear sense of what is right and what is
wrong. There is a subconscious drive to straighten out all the world's
evils and create a world of perfect order. There is a feeling of
repulsion to anything ugly, dirty, or grotesque. Oddly enough, there is
also often a fascination with these very things that are so distasteful,
and often a feeling of hopelessness and despair about the world's
condition.
These inner, emotional and conflicting qualities are reflected in the
attitudes and life styles of your generation. Most people of your age
group are conservative and ethical, and a small minority goes to the
opposite extreme and relishes being strange or unusual in appearance,
and sloppy or even grotesque in manners and appearance. There seems to
be no middle ground for your generation. Usually, the rebellious type of
behavior comes out during adolescence, and tends to subside thereafter,
and your age group tends to be very conservative in later life.
Your age group is not very good at compromising and tends to have strong
ideas about what is right and what is wrong. There is a strong feeling
that you must extinguish evil in the world. Certainly, fostering good
works is very commendable, but a categorical and simple-minded response
to complex issues is not helpful. Your age group will undergo great
transformations in attitudes regarding Good and Evil and will swing to
great extremes. Your generation will also make great contributions in
the areas of medicine and nutrition, ecology, and education.
Pluto in 9th house:
You have strong philosophical views and there are times in your life
when you passionately crusade for a cause that you deem noble and of
utmost importance. Although your intentions are good, you are not as
objective as you think you are, and your views are more colored by
personal experiences and concerns than you realize. Nevertheless, you
can also be instrumental in bringing about positive change if you can
avoid being dogmatic. Also, you may radically change or revise your own
personal beliefs, even your most cherished convictions, many times
during your life.
