Chapter 1: How You Approach Life and How You Appear To Others
Pisces Rising:
You are a gentle, sensitive person with a deep understanding of people
and a very tolerant, accepting, nonjudgmental approach towards life. In
a noisy, competitive atmosphere you are often receding and withdrawn for
you are not an aggressive, forceful person, and you intensely dislike
conflict. In fact you tend to be somewhat passive, to wait, watch,
observe, feel and know much - but to act little. Letting things resolve
or work themselves out in their own way, rather than directing or
forcing your will upon them, is often your way of dealing with problems.
You may have a deeply religious or spiritual feeling about life, not in
the orthodox sense necessarily, but an intuitive sense of the immensity
and underlying oneness of all life, which makes so many human
aspirations and striving seem rather unimportant. You need peaceful
surroundings in order to flourish, and periods of quiet solitude are
essential for your emotional balance and well-being.
You are also very compassionate and cannot tolerate seeing any fellow
creature suffer - be it human, animal, or even plant! As a child you
probably cried very easily and became quite upset whenever others were
hurt, physically or emotionally. The world of your imagination and
fantasy was also very real to you, a place to escape to when the outer
world became too harsh, demanding, or simply uninteresting.
Because you are very giving and forgiving, people in need gravitate to
you, sensing your sympathetic nature. Often you will continue to give to
a person even when you realize they are taking advantage of you or
becoming overly dependent upon you. You overlook and make excuses for
other peoples' weaknesses, and for your own as well. Discrimination and
self-discipline are not your strong points.
Though you may be as intelligent as anyone, you do not really have a
rational, logical approach toward life, and trying to reach you through
logical arguments is often futile. Your feelings, intuition, and heart,
not your head, lead you, which may infuriate or bewilder your more
rational friends. You certainly recognize that there is much more to
life than can be explained intellectually and categorized into neat
little boxes, and you have an open, receptive attitude toward such areas
as psychic phenomena, telepathy, parapsychology, etc. You are not as
structured and rigid in your attitudes as many people are, which enables
you to see many different points of view and to accept all of them as
valid. This can lead to vagueness, uncertainty, and confusion on your
part - or to a very flexible and holistic way of approaching any issue.
Sun Conjunct Asc.:
You appear confident and self-assured and you make a clear, strong
impression on others. You are very concerned with the impact you make on
others and with getting personal recognition, sometimes too much so. You
tend to dominate in relationships and to be oblivious to others' points
of view if they differ very much from your own.
Chapter 2: The Inner You: Your Real Motivation
Sun in Pisces:
At heart you are very gentle, impressionable, and receptive - a dreamer.
The world of your imagination, feelings, and intuition is as real to you
as anything in the outer world, though you may have trouble verbalizing
or interpreting your inner experiences in a way others can understand.
Mystical, artistic, musical, emotional and imaginative, you have a rich
inner life, though you may seem rather unobtrusive and quiet outwardly.
You usually keep to yourself.
You have great sensitivity and empathy with others, and you often sense
things psychically or intuitively which prove to be correct. You are
tolerant, forgiving, and nonjudgmental, accepting people unconditionally
regardless of their flaws, mistakes, or outward appearance. You have
deep compassion for the suffering of any fellow creature and often feel
others' pain as if it were your own. You sympathize with the needy, the
disadvantaged, the misfits of society. You are capable of giving
selflessly, living a life of devoted and compassionate service to
others, as a healer, physician, social worker, or minister. However, you
tend to give indiscriminately, to let others take advantage of your
kindness, and to encourage the weak to remain so by becoming dependent
upon you. You have little sense of boundaries, of limits, of knowing
when to say "no". Moderation and self-discipline are not your strong
points.
You are a lover and a peace-maker rather than a fighter, and you try to
avoid open conflict. You will patiently ignore or "tune out" problems
and hope they will go away by themselves, rather than directly
confronting them, and you tend to lack the positive fighting spirit that
is sometimes necessary to overcome challenges. You are fluid, open,
nonresistant, and somewhat passive. You do things in a subtle, often
covert, manner.
Your gifts may also lie in the realm of the creative, artistic, or
musical, for you have a great sensitivity, inspiration, and limitless
imagination. You respond very strongly to beauty and to love.
Your faults include a tendency to be lazy and negligent, and to wallow
in self-pity rather than taking strong, definite action to change your
life for the better. You also tend to become so detached from your
immediate environment that you live in a disorderly, chaotic sort of
hodgepodge, though this probably bothers those around you more than it
bothers you.
Sun in 1st house:
You have a clear sense of yourself and therefore convey a strong
impression to others of who you are and what you want. Assertive and
self-motivated, you can be a leader - one whom others look to for
direction - but you compete and often clash with other strong
individuals. You feel a need to be in control of your own life and you
can be too self-involved, too immersed in your own interests, and
oblivious to others at times.
Chapter 3: Mental Interests and Abilities
Mercury in Aquarius:
You are a progressive thinker, open and receptive to new technologies
and breakthroughs in science, and the latest discoveries in any field.
You have high expectations and a deep belief that mankind's problems can
be solved through the use of our creative intelligence and inventive
mind. You have no patience for those whose conservative, unimaginative
outlook limits their capacity to find solutions and envision a better
future. You also like to keep abreast of current developments in world
affairs, for you instinctively know that what happens in one part of the
world affects everyone. You have a strong humanitarian impulse.
Practically speaking, you have an aptitude for organization and enjoy
being involved in cooperative endeavors or businesses that are
contemporary and innovative.
Mercury in 12th house:
You don't speak up readily, even when you have a lot to say! Also, your
mind tends to drift and you find it difficult to study very factual
material that doesn't have much color or imaginative appeal. Your
intuition and first impressions are likely to be quite accurate,
however, and you tend to depend upon this faculty in making decisions.
Chapter 4: Emotions: Moods, Feelings, Romance
Moon in Aries:
Emotional outbursts are frequent with you due to your fiery temper and
emotional impulsiveness. You express yourself very directly and honestly
and no one has to guess what your true feelings are. However, you
dislike showing any personal weaknesses or needs for support, comfort,
and nurturing. You are often impatient with yourself and with others.
You abhor emotional dependency and dislike "complainers".
You inspire others to take positive action in their lives by your own
enthusiasm and eagerness to meet life's challenges, and are attracted to
people who are adventurous, courageous, and independent. You are rather
bossy, but you do not like to be with people that you can boss around
too much. You enjoy a good fight sometimes. Relationships built upon
mutual respect and a good deal of emotional freedom are ideal for you.
You become very cross if you do not have enough vigorous physical
activity. You will feel your best if you "do battle" on the tennis or
racquetball court (or engage in some other competitive sport)
frequently.
Moon in 1st house:
You have a soft exterior and tend to relate very personally and
sympathetically to other people. However, you sometimes let your
emotions overpower your reasoning and logic, and consequently you are
sometimes biased in your opinions. You are impressionable and rather
gentle, or at least that is the way you appear. Your feelings are on the
surface and you can not hide your emotions.
Venus in Capricorn:
You are definitely not one to wear your heart on your sleeve. You care
very much about others' opinions and crave love and appreciation as much
as anyone, but one would never know it from your reserved and seemingly
detached appearance. Casual, superficial relationships don't interest
you at all. You are cautious and serious about love and really desire a
deep, genuine, lasting love. You are old-fashioned about courtship and
love, and will remain faithful to your loved one in good times and in
bad.
You may be attracted to persons older than yourself, someone who is
emotionally mature and reliable and who can provide the security you
desire.
Venus in 11th house:
You are a very sociable, congenial person and you wilt very quickly
without the company of good friends and people to share good times with.
You thoroughly enjoy working with others on group projects or community
activities. You are quite happy when you are a part of a club, support
group, or team of some sort.
Venus Opposition Jupiter:
You share freely whatever you have, and your friends know they can
always count on your generosity and support, both emotional and
material. Your good-hearted acceptance and tolerance of others' foibles
goes a long way in maintaining harmony in your relationships. You also
have a lazy streak and sometimes avoid confronting difficult issues in
relationships simply because it seems like too much trouble and too
petty. You like to socialize and will use any excuse to celebrate with
friends. You cannot tolerate too much restriction by your love partner,
and encourage your partner's freedom as well.
Venus Opposition Uranus:
Your love feelings are easily aroused and your romantic relationships
begin with a sudden electric attraction, but they often end abruptly,
and you may be in and out of love frequently - especially in your
younger years. You crave emotional excitement and need to feel
spontaneous and free, so you may avoid making firm personal commitments.
Unusual or nontraditional forms of love and relationships appeal to you,
and you are attracted to unique, creative, or unstable people.
Venus Sextile Saturn:
Loyalty, fidelity, and security are very important to you in love. You
are cautious about giving your heart away but true to the one who does
win your love. Your tastes are simple, even austere, and you do not
appreciate frivolity. You are interested in a person's character and
inner qualities far more than their appearance. Casual or superficial
relationships don't interest you at all, for love seems to get deeper
and richer and more satisfying for you with time.
Chapter 5: Drive and Ambition: How You Achieve Your Goals
Mars in Aries:
You have a warrior's attitude - decisive, courageous, and bold. You tend
to always want to DO something, even when waiting for an appropriate
time or not doing something (simply letting things alone to resolve
themselves) would actually be more efficient and effective. You
absolutely cannot tolerate being passive or even patient about getting
what you want. You feel that it is up to you to take the initiative and
you go after your goal or desire very aggressively.
You are also self-reliant, do not depend on others to do things for you
or help you along, and you are often irritated when other people offer
advice or direction. Cooperation rarely comes easily to you. You are
willful and can be quite oblivious to others' desires or feelings when
you are pursuing something you want. You are highly competitive, enjoy a
challenge or a good fight, and may be downright pugnacious at times.
Abounding in energy and enthusiasm at the start of a new venture, you
need a very positive response and encouragement to sustain your interest
in it. If a project isn't successful rather quickly, you are apt to drop
it and move on to something else, rather than rework or refine it. The
desire to blaze a trail, to do things in a new way - YOUR way - is very
strong in you. You can discover, invent, and initiate new things, but
are impatient and may lack the stamina and perseverance needed to
complete a long-term project.
Mars in 2nd house:
You often buy things on impulse and you can be reckless with your
material resources and money. You have certain possessions that you are
extremely attached to and possessive of.
Mars Opposition Neptune:
Ordinary life often seems drab and uninteresting to you and you must
have something that stirs your imagination, some vision or ideal or
dream to motivate you. You have a strong urge to act out your fantasies
or to live your dream, and you will DO things that others only talk
about or dream about. Artistic creation, drama, or other areas in which
you can express yourself imaginatively are excellent for you.
Work that serves only your own narrow personal interests does not
satisfy you. You may lack the competitive edge, the fighting spirit, the
me-first attitude that is often required for material advancement and
success. You also tend to either overestimate or underestimate your own
power and abilities.
Mars Square Uranus:
Intensely restless, dynamic, and energetic, you are always on the go.
When you want something, you want it NOW, and you act decisively,
impulsively, sometimes hastily and prematurely. Impatient, high-strung,
and often nervous and tense, you find it difficult to slow down, pace
yourself, or relax. You are fiercely individualistic and independent,
self-willed and intolerant of restraints and restrictions imposed by
others. You have a reckless disregard for authority and can be extremely
rebellious. Cooperating with others is not your strong point! You are
often brutally frank and abrupt with people, and can be quite impersonal
when you are pursuing a desired goal. You may have an explosive temper
when your will is blocked. You have a superabundance of energy and need
much personal freedom to do things in your own style and at your own
pace.
Mars Trine Pluto:
You have a strong sense of mission and you instinctively know that to
achieve anything great, one must eliminate superfluous activities, and
give oneself wholly to the goal one wishes to accomplish. Your zeal,
enthusiasm, and clarity of purpose enable you to succeed and to achieve
whatever you aim for. You have a strong will, but you are usually quiet
and understated about it.
Chapter 6: Other Influences
Jupiter in Cancer:
You make others feel accepted and comfortable. You have a knack for
breaking down feelings of alienation and you make others feel included
and a part of group activities. You have a loving, protective side that
wants to take care of everyone. Creating a supportive atmosphere that is
nourishing both to yourself and to others is one of your strengths.
Also, your home and heritage are important to you, and you maintain
close connections to your past.
Jupiter in 5th house:
You are fun-loving and playful, and you throw yourself into your play
with joyous abandon! Whatever your love or enthusiasm of the moment is,
you go all out for it. You enjoy sports, recreation, or gambling, and
you can be somewhat hedonistic or addicted to having a good time. Your
children or your creative pursuits give you much happiness and
fulfillment.
Jupiter Conjunct Uranus:
You are very enthusiastic and high-spirited. You inject a positive,
optimistic note into any endeavor, and others enjoy your fun-loving and
enterprising attitude.
Jupiter Trine Saturn:
You have a good balance between idealism, optimism, and vision for the
future on one hand and a realistic sense of what can actually be
achieved on the other hand. Your judgment and business sense are usually
quite good. You possess patience and the ability to accept limitation
and frustration on the way to your goals.
Older, more experienced individuals or mentors are likely to play a
significant and beneficial role in your life.
Saturn in Scorpio:
You both yearn for, and fear, being emotionally vulnerable with others
and experiencing deep emotional intimacy. Trusting others and letting
yourself be known in a deep way doesn't come easily to you, and sexual
inhibitions may result from this. You are very self-protective and may
be compulsively secretive. Learning to relinquish control in personal
relationships, and to be completely open, are important tasks for you.
Saturn in 9th house:
Your attitude toward religion, philosophy, and politics is very
conservative and possibly narrow or rigid. On the one hand, you may
believe in nothing that is speculative or intangible, requiring proof
for any idea presented to you. Each idea is thoroughly and
systematically examined. On the other hand, you may tenaciously cling to
your grand philosophical or metaphysical beliefs and opinions, refusing
to modify them or to be open and receptive to others' insights and
perspectives.
Your overall outlook on life is serious, and you may feel that life or
God will punish you if you do not watch your step!
Saturn Square Pluto:
Once you decide what you want to do, you will pursue it tenaciously and,
if necessary, sacrifice a great deal for your deeply felt convictions.
This trait tends to make you feel a little out of step with others. You
take things a little more seriously and have an inclination to be a bit
of a fanatic, although probably not flamboyantly so, so others may not
know how deeply you feel and how driven you are about the things that
are important to you. You have a deep inner resolve and are willing to
struggle to do the things that are really meaningful to you, rather than
follow an easier but less meaningful course in life.
Saturn Trine Uranus:
You have a talent and ability for putting fresh ideas and inspiration
into practice. You are ready and willing to utilize new ideas and
methods, and you have a knack for gaining acceptance for a new idea and
practically implementing it.
Uranus in Cancer:
You are part of a 7 year group of people who have a strong need to feel
unrestrained by family ties and personal heritage. Your age group tends
to find personal relationships very restrictive, and also tends to feel
alienated and distant from family ties and concerns. Forming long-term
personal relationships is difficult for your age group, and divorce
rates are high in your group. However, you are an emotional and
sensitive group also, and this instability is painful at times. Finding
personal freedom and closeness with others at the same time is a big
challenge for you.
Uranus in 5th house:
You are uninhibited and have an outrageous, crazy sense of humor. You
love to get loose and you're often impulsive or "wild". Even if you
appear conventional, you are attracted to highly eccentric, creative, or
unusual companions. In romance, you are happiest when there is an
element of surprise, unpredictability, and adventure. You may choose
unstable love partners.
Uranus Square Neptune:
You were also born during a period that lasted approximately 5 years and
is characterized by an unusually high degree of imagination and
sensitivity. You are part of a group of people who are very inspired but
also unstable. The bizarre and unusual are standard fare among your age
group. Your generation also inspires intense political movements that
are often fanatical or unreasonable in their goals.
Neptune in Libra:
You are part of a 14 year group of people who have a very idealistic
sense of brotherhood and universal cooperation, which, among other
things, fostered the peace and freedom movement. Your age group is also
interested in the spiritual philosophy and ideals of other cultures, and
is not at all dogmatic in its approach to religion. You incorporate the
approaches of other religions. Your age group tends to have an eclectic
approach to religion, utilizing elements from many religious
perspectives (e.g. Eastern and Western), and finds it difficult to
follow traditionally defined religious practices.
A gullibility and an unwillingness to be decisive and judgmental
inclines your age group to be easily deceived, and consequently many of
the well-intended ideals and goals are frustrated by a lack of clear
purpose and direction.
Neptune in 8th house:
You have a very active imagination and powerful fantasies. You may
develop an interest in the supernatural, psychic phenomena, or occult
subjects. You may have strange fantasies and/or nebulous fears of
"ghosts", "the astral plane", or death. It's better for you not to
dabble in such areas unless you are thoroughly grounded in the practical
world as well.
Neptune Sextile Pluto:
The entire generation to which you belong has tremendous opportunities
for spiritual rebirth and awakening. This will not be forced upon you or
precipitated by unavoidable events, rather it comes from an inner
yearning and a natural propensity to seek the depths.
Pluto in Leo:
You are part of a 20 year period that is often referred to as the "ME"
generation, a generation that has a very proud and self-reliant
attitude. You are a generation that is very concerned with
self-development and personal integrity. Women's rights and minority
rights are issues that your generation has fostered and they reflect
your concern with individual respect, integrity, and honor. Your age
group has a deeply felt sense that each person has an equal right and
opportunity to fully develop his or her inner potential.
However, your group also finds it difficult to be part of a team and a
strong egotism makes group efforts difficult; you tend to see the
individual as more important than the group. You also defy authority and
often feel that no one has the right to tell you what to do. The strong
movement to refuse drafting into the military is one example of your age
group's strong sense of individual rights and freedom.
Your age group has popularized the idea of self-development, and has
contributed a great deal to the development of individual potential as
well as human rights. However, there is also a tendency to be rather
self-centered; others may wonder how you can spend so much time
developing yourselves and have so little time to contribute to your
families!
The interest in personal development also sometimes manifests as a
fascination with particular individuals and a great deal of hero
worship. Every generation, of course, has lots of idols, but your
generation is particularly prone to needing a specific individual to
represent and embody an idea or feeling, and to serve as a focal point
of interest. Perhaps the most extreme example of this is the concept of
the guru that was popularized by your age group.
Pluto in 6th house:
You can become obsessed with your health, self-improvement and personal
development. The psychological elements of disease interest you, and you
may endlessly psychoanalyze yourself and others.
Also, you may work compulsively and exhaust yourself through overwork.
You can be a tyrant with co-workers, and it may be easier for you to
work in solitude.
