Tarot Foundations: From the Fool to the World

December 23, 2025 | Cleo Divine

The Journey of the Soul: An Introduction to Tarot Foundations

Tarot is perhaps the most iconic tool of divination in the Western world. While its exact origins are debated, its evolution from 15th-century Italian playing cards (Tarocchini) into the complex esoteric system we use today is a testament to its enduring power. At its core, the Tarot is a story known as 'The Fool's Journey.'

Understanding the Structure: Major vs. Minor Arcana

The Major Arcana: Life's Big Lessons

The 22 cards of the Major Arcana (from The Fool to The World) represent significant life milestones and archetypal forces. When these cards appear in a spread, they indicate that the situation is governed by larger forces or that a major life shift is occurring.

The Minor Arcana: The Daily Grind

The 56 cards of the Minor Arcana deal with the day-to-day happenings. They are split into four suits:

  • Cups (Water): Emotions, relationships, and intuition.
  • Pentacles (Earth): Finances, career, and the physical body.
  • Swords (Air): Logic, intellect, conflict, and communication.
  • Wands (Fire): Passion, inspiration, drive, and action.

Tarot Myths & Misconceptions

The most persistent myth is that the Death card predicts physical demise. In reality, it almost always signifies a necessary ending that paves the way for a new beginning. Another myth is that you should never buy your own deck; choosing a deck that resonates with your personal energy is vital.

Digital Divination: Can an Online Ouija Board Truly Connect You?

December 22, 2025 | Cleo Divine

The Ouija board has long been a centerpiece of mystery and spiritual intrigue. Historically, these "talking boards" were physical wooden planks equipped with a planchette, used by sitters to channel messages from the beyond. But as we move deeper into the digital age, a new question arises: Can a virtual spirit board be just as effective as a physical one?

Intent vs. Medium

In the world of divination, practitioners have long held that the most important element isn't the tool itself, but the intent of the person using it. Just as tarot cards can be read digitally and astrology charts are now calculated by high-powered algorithms, the online Ouija board acts as a focal point for your energy and concentration.

When you use a digital interface, the planchette responds to your focused query, serving as a mirror for your subconscious or a conduit for spiritual energy. The shift from wood to pixels doesn't change the fundamental nature of the search for answers; it simply makes the tool more accessible to those seeking guidance in the modern world.

How to Use a Virtual Spirit Board Safely

Whether you are using a physical board or an online Ouija board for free, certain "rules of the road" apply to ensure a positive and focused experience:

  1. Set a Clear Intention: Before you begin, take a moment of silence. Decide exactly what you want to ask. Vague questions often lead to vague (or confusing) answers.
  2. Create a Sacred Space: Even though you are in front of a screen, try to minimize distractions. Dim the lights, take a few deep breaths, and ensure you won't be interrupted.
  3. Always Say Goodbye: In traditional practice, closing the session is vital to "lock the door." Most digital versions have a clear way to end the session - make sure you use it.

Experience it for Yourself

Are you ready to see what the spirits have to say? Our Free Online Ouija Board is designed specifically for those looking for quick yes/no answers and spiritual insights. By placing your focus on the digital planchette, you can unlock the same mysteries that have fascinated seekers for over a century.

The Complete Guide to Gong Hee Fot Choy: Margaret Ward's Legacy

December 21, 2025 | Cleo Divine

The Origins of a Century-Old Oracle

Gong Hee Fot Choy, translated as the "Greeting of Happiness," is not merely a card game but a sophisticated system of personal divination introduced by Margaret Ward in the early 20th century. Ward, a traveler and scholar of mystical traditions, sought to create a tool that combined the mathematical precision of the East with the accessible symbolism of the West...

Understanding the 32 Houses

What distinguishes Gong Hee Fot Choy from other systems is its use of the 32 Houses. Each house represents a specific facet of human existence: The House of Gold for wealth, the House of Friends for social bonds, and the House of Success for one's professional legacy. When a card is dealt into a house, a unique vibration is created...

How to Interpret Your Spread

To get the most from a reading, one must understand the interaction between the card's rank and the house's theme. A high-ranking card in the House of Health suggests a period of vitality, while a challenging card in the House of Love may be a warning to communicate more clearly with a partner...

Synastry Decoded: The Ultimate Astrology Compatibility Manual

December 20, 2025 | Cleo Divine

Beyond the Sun Sign: The Layers of Love

Most people know their Sun sign, but in the realm of astrology compatibility, the Sun is only one piece of a much larger puzzle. To understand why two people truly "click" - or why they clash - we must perform a Synastry analysis, overlaying two full natal charts to see how the planets interact in a cosmic dance...

The Power of the Moon and Venus

While the Sun represents your ego, the Moon represents your emotional core. If your Moons are in compatible signs, you will feel a sense of "home" with your partner. Venus, on the other hand, dictates how you express love and what you value in a mate. A strong Venus-Mars connection is often responsible for that undeniable physical spark...

Navigating Challenging Aspects

Square and Opposition aspects in a synastry report are often viewed as "bad," but in reality, they provide the friction necessary for growth. Without some challenge, a relationship can become stagnant. Learning to navigate these celestial friction points is the key to longevity...

Beyond Sun Signs: Why Natal Chart Synastry is the Key to Real Compatibility

December 18, 2025 | Cleo Divine

Beyond Sun Signs: Why Natal Chart Synastry is the Key to Real Compatibility

When most people think of astrology compatibility, they immediately look at their Sun signs. While knowing if a Leo and a Sagittarius make a good match is a great starting point, it only scratches the surface of cosmic relationship dynamics. To truly understand the potential for long-term harmony, we have to look at the entire natal horoscope.

What is Synastry?

In professional astrology, the study of relationship compatibility is called synastry. Instead of just looking at one planet (the Sun), synastry overlays two complete birth charts to see how the planets interact. It's a complex celestial map that explains why you feel an instant spark with some and a slow-burning devotion with others.

The "Big Three" of Romantic Compatibility

While every planet plays a role, three specific placements in your romance report define your relationship style:

  • The Moon: Governs your emotions and how you feel "at home" with someone. If your Moons are compatible, you'll find emotional safety in the relationship.
  • Venus: The planet of love and attraction. It dictates what you find beautiful and how you express affection.
  • Mars: Governs passion, drive, and even how you handle conflict. Mars compatibility ensures the "spark" stays alive over time.

Navigating the Challenges

No two charts are perfectly aligned, and that is actually a good thing! Challenges in a synastry report often point to areas where a couple can grow together. By understanding these friction points through a detailed astrological comparison, you can navigate disagreements with more empathy and insight.

Get Your Personal Roadmap to Love

Are you ready to stop guessing and start understanding the cosmic blueprint of your relationship? You can go beyond the basics and dive into the deep waters of your partnership right now.

Madame Lenormand: The Sibyl of the Faubourg

December 10, 2025 | Cleo Divine

The Legacy of Marie Anne Lenormand: The Sibyl of Napoleon

Marie Anne Adelaide Lenormand (1772-1843) was perhaps the most celebrated cartomancer of all time. Born in Alencon, France, she rose from a humble convent education to become the confidante of the most powerful figures in Europe. Her most famous client was Empress Josephine, whom Lenormand allegedly advised throughout the rise and eventual divorce from Napoleon Bonaparte. Legend has it that she predicted Napoleon's military victories long before they happened, as well as his eventual exile.

Her style of divination was unique for its time. While many used standard playing cards, Lenormand developed her own system that utilized 36 distinct symbols. Unlike the abstract archetypes of the Tarot, her cards featured relatable, everyday objects: a house, a dog, a ring, a ship. These symbols allowed her to give incredibly specific, direct, and practical advice that resonated with the tumultuous political climate of Revolutionary France.

The Petit Lenormand Deck: A 36-Card Language

The system we know today as the "Petit Lenormand" was actually codified and published shortly after her death. The deck consists of 36 cards, and the true power of the system lies not in the individual card, but in the 'pairs' and 'combinations.' Each card has a fixed meaning, but its nuance changes based on the cards surrounding it. For example, the Heart card represents love, but when paired with the Scythe, it might indicate a sudden heartbreak or a surgical procedure related to the physical heart.

The Art of the Grand Tableau

The hallmark of a professional Lenormand reading is the Grand Tableau. In this spread, all 36 cards are laid out in a specific grid. This layout serves as a holistic map of the seeker's life. Readers look for the 'Significator' (the Man or Woman card) and analyze the cards around it. Cards appearing 'near' the significator have an immediate impact, while those 'far' away represent distant influences or future possibilities. This proximity-based reading style is what gives Lenormand its surgical precision.

Common Myths & Misconceptions

A common misconception is that Lenormand cards are just 'easy Tarot.' In reality, the systems are fundamentally different. Tarot is a vertical system of spiritual growth and archetypes; Lenormand is a horizontal system of events and practical outcomes. Another myth is that Marie Lenormand used the 36-card deck exclusively; historical records show she was a versatile psychic who used palmistry, scrying, and even bean-reading to confirm her visions.

The Shaman's Path: A Guide to Animal Spirit Guides

December 8, 2025 | Cleo Divine

Connecting with Your Spirit Animal: The Shamanic Tradition

The concept of animal spirit guides, or totems, is rooted in the ancient shamanic beliefs of indigenous cultures worldwide. From the First Nations of North America to the tribes of Siberia, it has long been understood that humans are part of a vast energetic web that includes the animal kingdom. A spirit animal is an archetypal guide - a non-physical entity that represents a specific set of traits, lessons, and energies that an individual needs at a particular stage of their spiritual journey.

These guides are not chosen by us; rather, they choose us. They manifest in our lives through synchronicities, recurring dreams, or even physical encounters. When an animal guide appears, it is bringing a 'medicine' - a spiritual message or a specific quality like courage, patience, or vision that we are being called to integrate into our lives.

How to Identify Your Current Spirit Guide

Identifying your spirit animal requires a mix of observation and meditation. Many people find their guides by paying attention to the 'strangers' that cross their path. If you suddenly find yourself noticing owls in every book, movie, and physical landscape you encounter, the Owl is likely trying to get your attention.

Common Spirit Animals and Their Meanings

  • The Wolf: Represents the balance between social belonging and freedom. The Wolf is a teacher of loyalty, communication, and trust in one's instincts.
  • The Bear: A symbol of physical strength and the need for introspection. The Bear calls us to go within, 'hibernate' with our thoughts, and emerge with renewed power.
  • The Butterfly: The ultimate symbol of transformation. The Butterfly guides those who are undergoing a major life shift.

Debunking Totem Myths

A frequent myth is that you only have one spirit animal for your entire life. While many people have a 'primary' totem that remains constant, 'messenger' animals often appear for short durations to help with specific challenges.

The Science and Mystery of Online Ouija Boards

December 5, 2025 | Cleo Divine

Digital Divination in the 21st Century

The Ouija board, or "talking board," has fascinated and terrified the public since its patenting in 1890. While traditionally made of wood and felt, the transition to the digital realm has raised questions about efficacy. Can a virtual planchette truly channel spiritual energy? To answer this, we must look at the Ideomotor Phenomenon and the power of focused intent...

The Ideomotor Effect and Intent

Scientific skeptics point to the ideomotor effect - unconscious muscle movements - as the source of a planchette's motion. However, spiritualists argue that these movements are simply the physical conduit through which spirit energy manifests. In a digital setting, your intent and focus act as the motor, guiding the software's algorithm much like a physical hand guides wood...

Safety Protocols for the Curious

Engaging with the spirit world requires respect. Never use a board in a place where you feel unsafe, and always begin with a protective visualization. Most importantly, never forget to say "Goodbye" to officially close the energetic portal...

Ready to ask? Our Online Ouija Board is designed for those seeking a safe, focused environment for their questions.

The Legend of Gong Hee Fot Choy: Unlock Your Greeting of Happiness

December 2, 2025 | Cleo Divine

In the early 20th century, a traveler and mystic named Margaret Ward introduced the Western world to a unique and profound system of divination known as Gong Hee Fot Choy. Translated literally as the "Greeting of Happiness," this system is more than just a fortune-telling game; it is a comprehensive map of an individual's life path, focusing on the pursuit of prosperity, health, and wisdom.

The Wisdom of the 32 Houses

What sets a Gong Hee Fot Choy reading apart from standard tarot or card spreads is its structure. The system utilizes 32 distinct "Houses," each representing a specific area of human experience. From the House of Gold (wealth) to the House of Friends and the House of Success, the oracle provides a bird's-eye view of your current circumstances and future potential.

When you perform a reading, the cards are laid out across these houses. The interaction between the card's individual meaning and the house it lands in creates a highly personalized and nuanced interpretation that addresses the practicalities of daily life alongside spiritual growth.

A Tradition of Positive Intent

The core philosophy of the Margaret Ward oracle is the belief that by identifying potential obstacles and opportunities, we can better navigate our lives toward happiness. It is a proactive form of divination. It doesn't just tell you what will happen; it shows you where the "happiness" is waiting for you to claim it.

How to Prepare for Your Reading

Because Gong Hee Fot Choy covers so much ground - including your career, family, and inner peace - it is best to approach the cards with an open and calm mind. Many practitioners find that taking three deep breaths and focusing on the phrase "Greeting of Happiness" helps align their energy with the deck's positive intentions.

Start Your Journey to Prosperity

Whether you are a long-time fan of this classic system or a newcomer looking for clear guidance, the "Greeting of Happiness" is ready to speak to you. You don't need a physical deck to access this century-old wisdom.

Attavagga: The Self

June 30, 2014 | Acharya Buddharakkhita

157. If one holds oneself dear, one should diligently watch oneself. Let the wise man keep vigil during any of the three watches of the night.

158. One should first establish oneself in what is proper; then only should one instruct others. Thus the wise man will not be reproached.

159. One should do what one teaches others to do; if one would train others, one should be well controlled oneself. Difficult, indeed, is self-control.

160. One truly is the protector of oneself; who else could the protector be? With oneself fully controlled, one gains a mastery that is hard to gain.

161. The evil a witless man does by himself, born of himself and produced by himself, grinds him as a diamond grinds a hard gem.

Eclipses Spring 2014 - Shake Rattle and Roll

March 3, 2014 | Janet (Sparrow) Moon

spring 2014 eclipses

Eclipses bring changes. Many believe that an eclipse is about ten times more powerful than a full or new moon. Most find times during eclipses are stressful, because, let's face it, we don't like change. The eclipses always occur on the New or Full Moons, and they usually come in pairs like we have coming in April 2014. But, occasionally we will get three eclipses in a row. The New Moon eclipses are always solar eclipses, and the eclipses that occur on the Full Moon are always lunar eclipses. Some of the changes eclipses can stimulate are the breakup of a "rocky" relationship, layoffs and cutbacks in industry, death of an elderly loved one, sudden accidents, and new babies being born. Change brings progress, even if it is sometimes very uncomfortable.

Mars is retrograde from March 1st through May 19th, 2014.

In Astrology Mars rules our energy and our sex drives, and in mythology Mars is the god of war. He is the lower octave of Pluto. Mars is the ruler of Aries, and he symbolizes new beginnings and a feisty temper. Mars gives us our reason to get out of bed and get dressed in the mornings. Mars breathes life into situations and then puts them against the backdrop of time to animate our world. When Mars is afflicted jealousy, resentment, envy, and rivalry rear their ugly heads.

spring astrology

Mars retrograde will probably be the big event for March. We might find that our energy is low, and projects we begin could end up much differently than we anticipated. Saturn will also turn retrograde and Jupiter will turn direct, so we may notice that some areas of our life are ending, and some are reawakening. Jupiter and Uranus will maintain, and even strengthen, their conflict throughout this month. Most of our day to day routines should go fine, but there could be a subconscious nagging, and even a few outbursts before March ends.

Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius - February 2014

February 5, 2014 | Janet (Sparrow) Moon

mercury

Mercury is a very small, but dense, planet that orbits the Sun about every 88 days and turns retrograde three or four times per year. All of the major planets, except the Sun and Moon, turn retrograde, but none turn retrograde as often as Mercury. That's why you hear us astrologers chirping about Mercury's retrograde so much.

When a planet turns retrograde either we (the Earth) are passing it, or it is passing us on our solar race track. And, just like when you pass a car on the highway, for a short period of time, the planet (auto) appears to be moving backwards. So, when a planet is in retrograde, it is closer to the Earth than it is in other parts of it's orbit. Because the planet is so close to us, it's gravitational pull will have a stronger influence on our personalities.

It could be a month of the sublime and the ridiculous, so grab a soda and maybe a snack, and enjoy the show!

Astrology Forecast for January 2014 - General Tendencies for All Sun Signs

December 30, 2013 | Janet (Sparrow) Moon

We will have a little of everything in January 2014. The month may begin with extra challenges in front of us, because eight of the ten major planets will be lining up for battle in cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn). There could also be big mistakes and failures as January ends with Jupiter tugging on Pluto. However, we could find extra comfort at home mid month, under the Cancer full moon, but people could also get a bit touchy with Venus (still in retrograde) squaring off with Mars around the same time. We also have two New Moons this month with the second one beginning the Chinese New Year (the year of the horse), and Venus will turn direct as the month ends. All in all, January may bring a few challenges, but there will also be time to relax and be ourselves.

Owl Country - December Astrology

December is going to begin with a very majestic tone. The first twelve days of December could bring inspiration and strengthen our faith. But, around the first day of Winter, we may begin feeling a loss of control, and by the end of December we could be dealing with accidents, and fears and worries could be creeping into our thoughts.

December begins with the Sagittarius New Moon on Monday, December 2nd. There could be some pleasant surprises with Uranus beaming positive rays towards the Sun and the Moon. Also, people will be at ease and ready to laugh as the week begins, with Mercury dancing with Mars. It will be a great week for beginning new projects, but a fight between Mercury and Neptune may cause us to begin to lose our ambition by Thursday, December 5th, the last day of Hanukkah.

Astrology Forecast for November 2013 - General Tendencies for All Sun Signs

November 4, 2013 | Janet (Sparrow) Moon

scorpio

November could begin with a great big bang. Uranus and Pluto will hit the peak of their disturbance on November 1st bringing upsets and strife. Two days later on November 3rd, we will be under the light of a total solar eclipse, and that pretty much guarantees changes for most of us. Then we will have to deal with Jupiter turning retrograde and Mercury turning direct, before our luck finally changes around mid-month. In fact, the second half of November will not only signal a return to normalcy, but we may even get rewarded. Thanksgiving should go well, and we may find some very interesting bargains on Black Friday.

November begins on the weekend, and this would be a great weekend to dig a hole and crawl in it. I don't mean that literally, but things will be difficult for most of us. We could be dealing with crisis, tragedy, and lots of unexpected events throughout the weekend. There could be emotional issues and loss on Friday, November 1st, but for most, there will also be loved ones there to support us. People could be looking for revenge throughout the whole weekend with a solar eclipse in Scorpio on Sunday, November 3rd. Diplomacy and introspection will be the key to dealing with these issues. Also, practice moderation. Some of us may overdo it.

Venus Retrograde Winter 2013 - 2014

November 4, 2013 | Janet (Sparrow) Moon

planet venus

We astrologers don't talk much about Venus' retrograde, mostly because it only happens every eighteen months. Unlike Mercury's retrograde, which occurs every three to four months. Venus' retrograde is every bit as important as Mercury's, maybe even a bit more important. When a planet is in retrograde it is either passing the Earth or being passed by the Earth on our "solar race track." Venus travels a bit faster than the Earth and orbits the Sun every 225 days. When Venus is in retrograde, she is passing between the Earth and the Sun and is very close to us, therefore her gravitational influence will be stronger.

fall colors

Uranus and Pluto are two slow outer planets and aspects between them often last for years. The battle (square) between them began in the Spring of 2011 and will continue through Winter 2015. Because these planets are in retrograde almost as often as they are moving direct, the angle between them will widen and narrow throughout the process. So, there will be times when their energy peaks and then wanes again. Uranus and Pluto will be building up to another peak though the Fall of 2013 and as they approach their climax, Mercury will begin his retrograde, and the Sun and Moon will line up for their biannual ecliptic events.

Uranus and Pluto will bring emotional strife, and some will become fanatical. There will be upsets on the personal and the community level. Its likely that internet crime will increase, so it would be a very good idea to increase the security of your internet accounts. There could also be public demonstrations and disturbances, especially around the Halloween and Samhain holidays.
