Chiron is considered by many to be an asteroid or comet (its often referred to as a planetoid) that travels between the orbits of Saturn and Uranus. Although only discovered in 1977, Chiron has become a deeply embedded archetype in the collective mind.

Chiron was a centaur, a mythical creature that was a perfect blend of human reason and animal instinct. He was a great healer, but through an accidental wound was destined to live with his suffering. Chiron in the astrological chart shows where we have suffered but also where we can be a healing and mentoring influence for others.
